I am a level 23 Rogue over 600hp and 42+ DPS with 29 armour and have been playing on hard this whole time but im finding the steel robots and wizards on the Ark unbelievably diffucult to defeat. I get overwhelmed very easy and cannot progress. I have a special long sword made by the updated goblin and prime icicle but is there any advice? On Hard setting im not sure if i will be able to complete this game as leveling up is insanely too much work at this point.

Can we see a screenshot of your build?

At present Bloodlust II skill is enabled and I am rocking the Minotaur King's Cloak of Might. I switch between prime icicle and the Adamantite Long Sword. On hard setting however, I progressed because I probably relied on Hirge as my distraction while I came in for the kill but I was always the heavy hitter. These things (spider and wizards) though, I am having a real rough time solo. I cannot take them on in any multiples at all unless I have plenty of space to run circles. In close quarters they explode and kick my ass. I dont know. Im proud of my character and could take on any monster foe (excluding Under Mother, never got a chance made the deal with her instead of fighting her) no problem. Going to keep trying.

Any advice would be helpful? Thanks Dave. The game is F#%kin great! I love it.

Bring a set of alternate gear that boosts your lightening defense as much as possible along with a bunch of lightening defense potions. Try to isolate the wizards from the spiders when you use them as it will probably reduce your armor rating that you need against the spiders. Use armor boosting potions against them, along with a ton of health potions. Time your kills so that you can avoid their explosions. If you get get mobbed by both at the same time, keep the lightening defense gear on due to the wizards dps being deadly in a matter of seconds and use those potions strategically. Remember, the lightening potion will last for a minute vs the armor boost only lasting for a few seconds. You can also farm the health/defense potions from the minotaurs which should be pretty easy for a character at your level. You can also create large batteries to fully restore your health in the med bays.

I'm sure there are many other strategies used but this is what I do and it works for me.

Hope this helps.

so where do you find any weapons? I've been exploring the main level and have yet to come across any.

They don't spawn in the majority of the crates on the first level (a few crates behind the final force field) spawn weapons, but for the most part you need to get to a different floor.

The process goes, enter -> get a large battery -> go upstairs, boot up Oracle -> go to basement, start the aux generator -> return to Oracle, learn a buncha stuff -> punch through final force field on main floor, find elevator up to upper deck -> fight through upper deck till you meet your destiny. Or your sister. Or both.

---General Tips---
*Stand next doorways (literally next to an open doorway) if you're fighting more than one mob. The first mob to follow after you will block the doorway, so even if there are wizards only the mob in the doorway can attack you. -> retreat to next doorway to avoid the blast.
*Run through the sunken citadel 3-4 times. I picked up ~60 or so Elixirs in 30 min or so. Use these against spiders and your lightning pots and medipak's against wizards
*Pick up some summon scrolls. I've found popping a summon scroll while you're running from a group of mobs right before you enter through a doorway, will draw the majority towards the summon if keep running.
**If you're a member of the House of Night, you can talk to Kardagis and buy a Lightning Dirk from her, since most of the enemies are elementally vulnerable to electric attacks. You might even consider using a shield in scary times vs spiders ambushes. You'll need to push on until you find yourself a yummy weapon later in the dungeon.
*Letting a mob spot you rather than attacking an enemy, procs a smaller aggro range so only those who spot you will attack you.

Forgot to add: get a leggings of shadows from the citadel. That give another small bump to your lightning resistance.

Best of luck bud~

Some other tips as a (non-bow specialist) rogue;

1. Mobs can be de-mobbed by careful movement - i.e. moving slowly so just the one spider or wizard/robot spots you and chases you at a time.

2. If you do this - and have high evasion skill - you don't need to worry about the explosion when the enemies die. Just hit the evade button just before your enemy croaks and the blast won't harm you.

3. This makes things slow going though - which makes the use of wisdom/XP potions non-cost-effective.

Actually I could do with some minor help myself.....

The way the story is scripted, it looks set up like the Ark might be destroyed when the quest is completed? Am I guessing right here? What it is - I've done 3 x run throughs of the Ark at the main deck and reactor deck levels. I have got everything I want in order to meet the final challenge - but I haven't yet got everything I might want for my warrior companion in future challenges. Would be useful to know if I can still come back and do some farming after the main quest?
